DOTMA

DOTMA (N-[1-(2,3-dioleyloxy)propyl]-N,N,N-trimethylammonium chloride) is a foundational cationic lipid that spontaneously assembles into stable, positively charged liposomes when dispersed in an aqueous solution. These cationic vesicles are extensively employed as non-viral vectors for the highly efficient introduction (transfection) of various anionic molecules, including DNA, RNA, oligonucleotides, acidic proteins, and small peptides, into cells.
