GlycoErase™ AMY2A Knockout CHO-K1 Cell Line (CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF267)

Datasheet
SizeQtyAdd To Basket
1 M cells/vial*2

Description GlycoErase™ AMY2A knockout CHO-K1 cell line is a Chinese hamster ovary (CHO-K1) model in which AMY2A expression has been eliminated. AMY2A encodes a pancreatic alpha-amylase isoenzyme that hydrolyzes 1,4-alpha-glucosidic bonds in dietary starch and glycogen, initiating carbohydrate digestion. The knockout of AMY2A in the CHO-K1 background enables studies on pancreatic enzyme function, carbohydrate breakdown, and digestive physiology, supporting applications in metabolic disease research, digestive enzyme biology, and therapeutic enzyme development.

Handling Notes Upon receipt, this product must be immediately transferred from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank. Cell viability is critically dependent on proper handling. We cannot guarantee viability if these instructions are not strictly adhered to.
Product Disclaimer This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
Target AMY2A
Full Name Amylase Alpha 2A
Alternative Name PA; AMY2
Location 1p21.1
Gene ID 279
Summary This gene encodes a member of the alpha-amylase family of proteins. Amylases are secreted proteins that hydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, catalyzing the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. This gene and several family members are present in a gene cluster on chromosome 1. This gene encodes an amylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas.
