The ST3GAL1 knockout KD cell line, derived from an extra-cranial rhabdoid tumor, lacks ST3GAL1 protein, ST3 beta-galactoside alpha-2,3-sialyltransferase 1 catalyzing sialylation in Golgi. ST3GAL1 knockout in rhabdoid cancer cells allows investigation of sialylation disruption in this pediatric sarcoma, potentially affecting alpha-2,3-sialylation of glycans, cell surface sialylation, and sialic acid dependent rhabdoid tumor properties.
