FUT1 knockout A549 cell line lacks FUT1 protein, fucosyltransferase 1 (H blood group). FUT1 is crucial for H antigen precursor synthesis for ABO blood antigens. In A549 cells, FUT1 knockout can be used to study ABO antigen precursor's role in lung cancer, potentially affecting cell adhesion, immune recognition, and blood group-related cancer biology.
