Description
ST6GAL1 knockout A549 cell line lacks ST6GAL1 protein, ST6 beta-galactoside alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1, a glycosyltransferase family 29 member catalyzing sialylation. ST6GAL1 knockout in A549 cells allows investigation of sialylation disruption in lung cancer, potentially affecting alpha-2,6-sialylation of galactose-containing substrates and sialylation-dependent tumor properties.
