GlycoErase™ SIGLEC6 Knockout A549 Cell Line

GlycoErase™ SIGLEC6 knockout A549 cell line is a human lung epithelial cancer model with SIGLEC6 expression removed. SIGLEC6 is a transmembrane lectin receptor that recognizes sialyl-TN glycans and also binds leptin. Its expression is notably upregulated in the placenta during preeclampsia, highlighting its relevance in glycan recognition and pregnancy-related disorders. The knockout of SIGLEC6 in the A549 background provides an effective system to study glycan-protein interactions, metabolic signaling involving leptin, and disease processes such as preeclampsia, while supporting drug discovery, biomarker exploration, and translational research in reproductive and metabolic biology.
