GlycoFlux™ Human PRDM8 Overexpression CHO-K1 Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0925-JF353

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoFlux™ human PRDM8 overexpression CHO-K1 cell line is engineered for PRDM8, a histone methyltransferase with SET and zinc-finger domains that represses transcription. This model enables research on neuronal differentiation, epigenetic regulation, Lafora disease pathways, and behavioral phenotypes associated with PRDM8 overactivity.

Handling Notes
Upon receipt, this product must be immediately transferred from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank. Cell viability is critically dependent on proper handling. We cannot guarantee viability if these instructions are not strictly adhered to.
Product Disclaimer
This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.

Summary
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to a conserved family of histone methyltransferases that predominantly act as negative regulators of transcription. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal Su(var)3-9, Enhancer-of-zeste, and Trithorax (SET) domain and a double zinc-finger domain. Overexpression of this gene in mouse results in mistargeting by neurons of the dorsal telencephalon, abnormal itch-like behavior, and impaired differentiation of rod bipolar cells. In humans, the protein has been shown to interact with the phosphatase laforin and the ubiquitin ligase malin, which regulate glycogen construction in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
