GlycoFlux™ Human SIGLEC5 Overexpression HepG2 Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0925-JF890

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoFlux™ human SIGLEC5 overexpression HepG2 cell line is a stable hepatocyte-like model overexpressing SIGLEC5, a CD33-related inhibitory lectin. It regulates immune suppression and contributes to bacterial evasion strategies through sialic acid recognition. This glycoengineered system provides a liver context for studying inhibitory receptor biology and host-pathogen interactions.

Summary
This gene encodes a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family. These cell surface lectins have structural motifs in their immunoglobulin-like domains and sialic acid recognition sites in the first Ig V-set domain. The encoded protein, part of the CD33-related Siglec subgroup, inhibits activation in monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It also plays a role in immune evasion by Group B Streptococcus (GBS).
