The GlycoSens™ Pepsin Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target pepsin in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Protease Series
Target
Pepsin
Kit Components
Sample Lysis Buffer; Substrate; Detection Reagent; Standard
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
20 μL - 100 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of pepsin. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect pepsin content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 1 hour

Target Information
Full Name
Pepsin
Alternate Names
Protease; Pepsin
Application Notes
Background
Pepsin is an integral element required for robust cellular function and metabolism. It forms a crucial part of the cellular inventory, dynamically responding to internal and external stimuli. Furthermore, consequently, robust measurement of this parameter is highly beneficial for comprehensive functional profiling.
Application
Tailored for accurate quantification of pepsin across cell biology, organelle bioenergetics, and intracellular signaling cascades.
Key Features & Advantages
Linear Dynamic Range; Stringent Quality Control; Enhanced Sensitivity
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.
2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.
3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
