Specifications
Description
DSPA (1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate, sodium salt) is the sodium salt of a phosphatidic acid (PA) species, characterized by two C18 stearic acid chains. PA functions as a simple glycerophospholipid and an important anionic signaling lipid within cell membranes. While comprising only a small fraction of total phospholipids, PA is dynamically regulated and mediates diverse cellular functions. These include the regulation of signal transduction pathways controlling cell proliferation, differentiation, cell transformation, tumor progression, and cytoskeletal reorganization, often by recruiting effector proteins to specific membrane locations.
