Specifications
Description
1-Palmitoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, known as lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) or LysoPC, is created by the phospholipase A2-catalyzed cleavage of the sn-2 ester bond of Phosphatidylcholine (PC). As a significant component in the diet and circulating lipoproteins, LPC is believed to play a role in the progression of atherosclerosis and inflammatory diseases. Moreover, LPC serves as the primary substrate for lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase (LPCAT), an enzyme important for cell motility.
