GlycoErase™ SIGLEC11 knockout A549 cell line is a human lung epithelial cancer model in which SIGLEC11 expression has been eliminated. SIGLEC11 is a sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin characterized by Ig-like structural domains and specific sialic acid recognition motifs. It is known to mediate anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive signaling, and multiple isoforms have been reported. Removing SIGLEC11 in the A549 background provides a relevant model to explore immune suppression pathways, inflammation control, and isoform-specific biology, while enabling applications in immunology research, therapeutic antibody development, and translational drug discovery.

Product Disclaimer
This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
This gene encodes a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin family. These cell surface lectins are characterized by structural motifs in the immunoglobulin (Ig)-like domains and sialic acid recognition sites in the first Ig V set domain. This family member mediates anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive signaling. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
