The GlycoSens™ Mitochondrial Respiratory Chain Complex II Assay Kit enables precise, direct detection of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex II via micro-volume spectrophotometric measurement. The kit contains ready-to-use reagents optimized for exceptional reproducibility and fast assay turnaround.
Succinate-Coenzyme Q Reductase (Complex II) oxidizes succinate while reducing coenzyme Q. Reduced coenzyme Q subsequently transfers electrons to DCPIP, leading to progressive decolorization. Complex II activity is determined by measuring the reduction rate of DCPIP absorbance at 605 nm.

Application Notes
Background
Found widely across biological samples, mitochondrial respiratory chain complex II is crucial for maintaining systemic homeostasis. It functions as an essential multi-subunit structure within the mitochondrial electron transport chain. Consequently, monitoring these changes is vital for evaluating bioenergetic efficiency and systemic resilience.
Application
Tailored for accurate quantification of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex II across enzymology, succinate dehydrogenase activity, and oxidative phosphorylation studies.
Key Features & Advantages
Stable Signal Output; Excellent Reproducibility; Stringent Quality Control
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.
2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.
3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
