Product Description
The GlycoSens™ Resistant and Non-resistant Starch Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target resistant and non-resistant starch in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Carbohydrate Metabolism Series
Kit Components
Digestion Buffer; Enzyme Mix; Washing Buffer; Solubilization Solution; Standard
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
10 μL - 50 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of resistant and non-resistant starch. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect resistant and non-resistant starch content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 1 hour
Detection Wavelength
510 nm
Required Equipment & Materials (Self-provided by User)
Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
Storage
Store at -20°C.
Shipping Conditions
Shipped with ice packs.
Application Notes
Background
Resistant and non-resistant starch acts as an essential biochemical entity within diverse cellular pathways. It serves as a fundamental energy source and a key structural component in biological tissues. Furthermore, investigating its functional state is crucial for identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Application
Essential for monitoring resistant and non-resistant starch level shifts during molecular biochemistry, metabolic pathway flux analysis, and enzymology studies.
Key Features & Advantages
High Specificity; Micro-Volume Optimization; Broad Sample Compatibility
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.

2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.

3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
