Specifications
Product Description
The GlycoSens™ Starch Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target starch in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Carbohydrate Metabolism Series
Target
Starch
Kit Components
Assay Buffer; Enzyme Mix; Developer Solution; Standard; Reaction Stop Solution
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
20 μL - 100 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of starch. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect starch content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 45 minutes

Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
Storage
Store at -20°C.
Shipping Conditions
Shipped with ice packs.
Target Information
Full Name
Starch
Alternate Names
Starch
Application Notes
Background
The presence and activity of starch are closely linked to overall organismal health. As a primary metabolic intermediate, it fuels diverse biosynthetic and catabolic reactions. Moreover, therefore, profiling its activity serves as a fundamental strategy for exploring complex biological phenomena.
Application
Tailored for accurate quantification of starch across cell biology, organelle bioenergetics, and intracellular signaling cascades.
Key Features & Advantages
Superior Accuracy; Low Background Noise; Highly Stable Signal Output
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.

2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.

3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
