Description
UDP-GlcNAc is an important nucleotide sugar, which is composed of uridine 5'-diphosphate and the monosaccharide N-acetylglucosamine bound to phosphate. As an activated form of monosaccharide, UDP-GIcNAc plays a key role in cell metabolism and biosynthesis reactions. It is a donor substrate for N-acetylglucosamine transferase, participates in the synthesis of sugar chains containing N-acetylglucosamine, and is widely used in the synthesis of glycoproteins and other related biomacromolecules.
