GlycoErase™ ALG10 Knockout KD Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0425-JF641

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
The ALG10 knockdown KD cell line, derived from an extra-cranial rhabdoid tumor, serves as a vital model for N-glycosylation research in this aggressive pediatric cancer. Exhibiting reduced expression of ALG10, these cells display impaired N-glycosylation, consequently affecting protein folding. Researchers utilize this ALG10-KD Rhabdoid Cancer cell line to investigate the impact of N-glycosylation defects on key aspects of rhabdoid tumor biology, such as proliferation, metastasis, drug resistance, and the evasion of immune surveillance, and to identify potential diagnostic markers or therapeutic targets specific to this challenging disease.

Summary
This gene encodes a membrane-associated protein that plays a critical role in N-linked glycosylation by adding the third glucose residue to the lipid-linked oligosaccharide precursor. Specifically, it transfers the terminal glucose molecule from dolichyl phosphate glucose (Dol-P-Glc) to the lipid-linked oligosaccharide Glc₂Man₉GlcNAc₂-PP-Dol. This step is essential for the proper assembly of the oligosaccharide precursor necessary for N-linked glycoprotein synthesis.
