Description
The GALNT1 knockout KD cell line, derived from an extra-cranial rhabdoid tumor, lacks GALNT1 protein, polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 1 initiating mucin-type O-glycosylation. GALNT1 knockout in rhabdoid cancer cells allows investigation of mucin-type O-glycosylation's role in this pediatric sarcoma, potentially affecting cell surface properties, cell-cell interactions, and barrier functions relevant to rhabdoid tumor behavior.
