GlycoErase™ SIGLEC12 knockout HEK293 cell line is a human embryonic kidney model lacking SIGLEC12 expression. SIGLEC12 belongs to the SIGLEC3-like subfamily, with ITIM and SLAM-like motifs that recruit SHP1/2 phosphatases to inhibit macrophage signaling. This knockout HEK293 line provides a tractable model to investigate inhibitory receptor biology, phosphatase-mediated pathways, and immune regulation, and supports applications in signal transduction studies, antibody engineering, and viral research.

Product Disclaimer
This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
Target Information
Target
SIGLEC12
Full Name
Sialic Acid Binding Ig Like Lectin 12
Alternative Name
S2V, SLG, SIGLECL1, Siglec-XII, Sialic Acid Binding Ig Like Lectin
This gene encodes a member of the SIGLEC3-like subfamily, characterized by extracellular V-set and C2-set immunoglobulin-like domains, and cytoplasmic motifs ITIM and SLAM-like. Tyrosine phosphorylation of the protein recruits SHP1 and SHP2, functioning as an inhibitory receptor in macrophage signaling regulation. The gene is located on 19q13.4 and undergoes alternative splicing to produce multiple transcript variants.
