Description
GlycoErase™ SIGLEC8 knockout HepG2 cell line is a HepG2 cell line in which SIGLEC8 expression has been removed. SIGLEC8 contains conserved inhibitory motifs such as ITIM and SAP-binding sequences, mediating immune checkpoint signaling. The knockout HepG2 background provides a disease-relevant model for studying inhibitory immune pathways and cell-cell signaling, with applications in liver immunology, cancer research, and biomarker validation.

Summary
SIGLECs, including SIGLEC8, are type I transmembrane proteins with unique expression patterns, mainly in hematopoietic cells. SIGLEC8, a member of the CD33-like subgroup, is localized to the 19q13.3-q13.4 region and features two conserved cytoplasmic motifs: an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) and a SLAM-like motif that interacts with the SLAM-associated protein (SAP).
