Description
Phosphoinositides (PIPs) are low-abundance membrane constituents that act as fundamental components of cellular signaling networks. Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3) is produced when PI 3-kinase phosphorylates PI(4,5)P2 and is a key driver for numerous downstream pathways, regulating critical functions like cell proliferation, growth, survival, protein synthesis, and glucose transport. Elevated PIP3 levels are often linked to dysregulated PI 3-K activity and observed in various inflammatory conditions and cancers. PIP3 is inactivated by phosphatases, including PTEN and SHIP. PI(3,4,5)P3 diC8 represents a high-purity, synthetic, dioctanoyl variant of PI(3,4,5)P3.
