Specifications
Description
The compound 1,2-dilauroyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DLPC) is the dilauroyl diester form of phosphatidylcholine, recognized as one of the most prevalent lipid constituents within cellular membranes. Structurally, phosphatidylcholine (PC) forms the primary scaffold of animal cell membranes and is the most plentiful class of lipids, predominantly localizing to the outer membrane layer to regulate cellular permeability. PC is additionally the essential substrate for phospholipase D enzymes, which generate downstream lipid signaling molecules: phosphatidic acid and lysophosphatidic acid.
