GlycoFlux™ Human SIGLEC1 Overexpression HEK293T Cell Line

CAT#: GLJF-0925-JF841

Datasheet Request COA
Overview
Description
GlycoFlux™ human SIGLEC1 overexpression HEK293T cell line is a stable cell line that overexpresses SIGLEC1, a type I transmembrane adhesion protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC1 selectively recognizes sialylated glycans on cell surfaces, enabling macrophage-mediated immune surveillance. It has been linked to human diseases and pathogen susceptibility, including viral entry pathways such as SARS-CoV-2. This glycoengineered system provides an advanced tool for studying lectin-glycan biology, immune checkpoint-like signaling, and viral exploitation of sialic acid receptors.

Summary
This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein is a lectin-like adhesion molecule that binds glycoconjugate ligands on cell surfaces in a sialic acid-dependent manner. It is a type I transmembrane protein expressed only by a subpopulation of macrophages and is involved in mediating cell-cell interactions. The protein plays an important role in multiple human diseases and bacterial and viral infections has been shown to enhance SARS-CoV-2 infection.
