Specifications
Product Description
The GlycoSens™ Fatty Acid Synthase (FAS) Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target fatty acid synthase in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Fatty Acid Metabolism Series
Target
FAS
Kit Components
Assay Buffer; Enzyme Mix; Developer Solution; Standard; Reaction Stop Solution
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
5 μL - 20 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of fatty acid synthase. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect FAS content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 1 hour
Required Equipment & Materials (Self-provided by User)
Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
Storage
Store at -20°C.
Shipping Conditions
Shipped with ice packs.
Target Information
Full Name
Fatty Acid Synthase
Alternate Names
Fatty Acid Synthase; FAS; Fatty Acid Synthetase
Application Notes
Background
Research highlights fatty acid synthase (FAS) as a significant participant in key metabolic and regulatory cascades. By catalyzing the covalent linkage of its substrates, it supports intracellular synthesis requirements. In addition, thus, accurate determination using this assay supports advanced exploration in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Application
Optimized for high-throughput profiling of fatty acid synthase (FAS) in functional metabolomics, secondary metabolite profiling, and environmental adaptation research.
Key Features & Advantages
Robust Assay Design; Easy-to-Follow Protocol; Versatile Application Range
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.

2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.

3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
For Research Use Only.
