The GlycoSens™ Pyruvate Dehydrogenase (PDH) Assay Kit utilizes a highly stable detection system tailored for accurate profiling of pyruvate dehydrogenase. It combines streamlined sample handling with superior signal-to-noise ratios to support dependable biochemical assessment in research applications.
Product Type
Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle Series
Target
PDH
Kit Components
Sample Lysis Buffer; Substrate; Detection Reagent; Standard
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
10 μL - 50 μL
Detection Principle
Target pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) in samples undergoes specific enzymatic conversion or chromatic reaction, resulting in a distinct optical absorbance change monitored spectrophotometrically. The variation in absorbance intensity directly correlates with the concentration of target PDH.
Detection Time
30-60 minutes
Required Equipment & Materials (Self-provided by User)
Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
The presence and activity of pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) are closely linked to overall organismal health. It is responsible for driving the oxidative conversion of its substrate, typically utilizing NAD or FAD as cofactors. Moreover, thus, accurate determination using this assay supports advanced exploration in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Application
Ideal for investigating pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) activity and metabolic turnover during natural product research, growth factor signaling, and developmental morphogenesis studies.
Key Features & Advantages
Superior Accuracy; Low Background Noise; Highly Stable Signal Output
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.
2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.
3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
