Specifications
Description
DPPS (1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoserine, sodium salt) is an anionic phospholipid of the phosphatidylserine (PS) class. In healthy cells, PS is strictly confined to the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. However, during programmed cell death (apoptosis), PS undergoes rapid translocation to the outer leaflet and is recognized by Annexin V, which forms the basis for common apoptosis assays.
