The GlycoSens™ Trehalose Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target trehalose in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Trehalose Series
Target
Trehalose
Kit Components
Extraction Buffer; Reaction Reagent A; Reaction Reagent B; Standard
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
10 μL - 50 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of trehalose. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect trehalose content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 45 minutes
Required Equipment & Materials (Self-provided by User)
Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
Storage
Store at -20°C.
Shipping Conditions
Shipped with ice packs.
Target Information
Full Name
Trehalose
Alternate Names
Trehalose
Application Notes
Background
Trehalose is recognized as a fundamental component in biological systems. This carbohydrate molecule is central to carbon metabolism and cellular energy distribution. Moreover, monitoring these changes is vital for evaluating bioenergetic efficiency and systemic resilience.
Application
Ideal for investigating trehalose activity and metabolic turnover during natural product research, growth factor signaling, and developmental morphogenesis studies.
Key Features & Advantages
Rapid Execution; Flexible Sample Inputs; Highly Reproducible Data
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.
2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.
3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
