Description
Phosphoinositides (PIPs) are low-concentration membrane lipids that are essential for mediating cellular signals. Phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P) is predominantly localized in the early endosomal compartment, where it plays a critical role in endosome fusion, receptor sorting, and directing cargo into multivesicular bodies. PI3P is also involved in the regulated fusion and trafficking of the phagosome, interacting with molecules such as the GLUTA4 transport protein. This specific product is a purified, synthetically derived dipalmitoyl version of PI(3,4,5)P3, although the name specifies PI(3)P.
