GlycoErase™ SIGLEC9 knockout A549 cell line is a human lung epithelial cancer model in which SIGLEC9 expression has been eliminated. SIGLEC9 is predicted to exhibit monosaccharide and sialic acid binding activity, contribute to cell adhesion, and act in the negative regulation of inflammatory responses and phagocytosis. Localized on the external side of the plasma membrane, SIGLEC9 serves as an inhibitory receptor in immune signaling. The absence of SIGLEC9 in the A549 background provides a practical model to study inflammation control, immune suppression, and adhesion-related biology, and supports applications in immunology, anti-inflammatory drug development, and host defense research.
