Specifications
Product Description
The GlycoSens™ Ascorbic Acid Oxidase (AAO) Assay Kit provides a robust, high-precision analytical assay platform engineered for quantification of target ascorbic acid oxidase in varied biological matrices. Featuring a streamlined protocol, it delivers outstanding linearity and operational speed for routine biochemical assays.
Product Type
Ascorbate-Glutathione Cycle Series
Target
AAO
Kit Components
Extraction and assay buffer; Substrate Mix A; Substrate Mix B; Reaction developer
Sample Types
Tissues, other biological samples
Sample Volume
10 μL - 50 μL
Detection Principle
The assay relies on the distinct spectroscopic optical characteristics of ascorbic acid oxidase. Upon reaction with specialized chromogenic reagents, the resulting optical density shifts measured at target wavelengths directly reflect AAO content in the sample.
Detection Time
Within 2 hours
Required Equipment & Materials (Self-provided by User)
Visible Spectrophotometer or Microplate Reader, glass/quartz cuvettes, microcentrifuge, water bath/incubator, adjustable micropipettes, double-distilled water.
Storage
Store at -20°C.
Shipping Conditions
Shipped with ice packs.
Target Information
Full Name
Ascorbic Acid Oxidase
Alternate Names
Ascorbic Acid Oxidase; AAO; Ascorbic Acid Oxidoreductase
Application Notes
Background
The presence and activity of ascorbic acid oxidase (AAO) are closely linked to overall organismal health. It plays a central role in mitigating oxidative stress and managing intracellular reactive oxygen intermediates. In addition, monitoring these changes is vital for evaluating bioenergetic efficiency and systemic resilience.
Application
Tailored for accurate quantification of ascorbic acid oxidase (AAO) across cell biology, organelle bioenergetics, and intracellular signaling cascades.
Key Features & Advantages
Linear Dynamic Range; Streamlined Workflow; Consistent Batch-to-Batch Performance
Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.

2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.

3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
