Phosphatidylinositol diC16

This is a high-purity, synthetic preparation of dioctadecanoyl Phosphatidylinositol (PI diC16). Phosphoinositides are minor components of cellular membranes but are essential signaling molecules for cell communication. Cellular PI (or PtdIns) is synthesized by phosphatidylinositol synthase from CDP-diacylglycerol and inositol. PI acts as the foundational building block for all phosphoinositide polyphosphates, which are subsequently generated through phosphorylation by various PI-kinases, and is also hydrolyzed by PI-PLC to yield diacylglycerol.
