Monocarpin is a cyclofarnesane derivative whose original isolation source was the trunk bark of Monocarpia system modulation species. Triterpenoids of the cycloartane class are actively studied for their valuable properties, which include supporting immune function and acting as anti-inflammatory agents. 1-Decanoylglycerol is specifically a 1-monoglyceride with a decanoyl acyl group, and derivatives of these lipids are often used in cosmetic and food-contact applications.
