The GlycoSens™ Transhydrogenase-2 (TH-2) Assay Kit enables precise, direct detection of TH-2 via spectrophotometric measurement. The kit contains ready-to-use reagents optimized for exceptional reproducibility and fast assay turnaround.
Transhydrogenase-2 (TH-2) catalyzes hydride transfer from NADPH to NAD+. Synthetic substrate analog 3-acetylpyridine adenine dinucleotide (APAD+) is reduced to APADH, which displays a unique optical absorbance peak at 375 nm. Activity is quantified by tracking OD increase at 375 nm.

Application Notes
Background
The presence and activity of transhydrogenase-2 (TH-2) are closely linked to overall organismal health. Its concentration levels are highly indicative of the functional state and metabolic vigor of the sample. As a result, thus, accurate determination using this assay supports advanced exploration in biochemistry and molecular biology.
Application
Designed for comprehensive functional analysis of transhydrogenase-2 (TH-2) within molecular biochemistry, cellular redox energy regulation, and metabolic pathway flux analysis.
1. Pre-Centrifugation of Vials: Prior to opening any reagent vials, perform a brief centrifugation to collect all powder or liquids at the bottom of the tubes.
2. Reagent Equilibration & Mixing: Allow all kit reagents and buffers to equilibrate to room temperature (25 °C) before initiating the assay.
3. Sample Storage: If samples are not assayed immediately, please store at -80 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
