Description
Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) is principally synthesized through the transphosphatidylation reaction of Phosphatidylcholine (PC) catalyzed by Phospholipase D. POPEth constitutes the vast majority of circulating PEth metabolites, is the longest-lasting, and is generated by N-incorporation into red blood cell membranes. This specific d5 variant, 1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanol-d5, features a fully deuterated ethanol headgroup and is utilized as a mass spectrometry reference standard for quantitative analysis.
