| Target/Description | Following passive diffusion into the cells, cellular esterases deacetylate the cell-permeant NO probe to a non-fluorescent intermediate.When intracellular nitric oxide comes into contact with this intermediate, it quickly oxidizes to a highly fluorescent triazolofluorescein analog.Fluorescence intensity is proportional to the NO levels inside the cell's cytoplasm. |
