| Molecular Mechanism of Action | The kit measures the fluorescence intensity (λex=485±10 nm, λem=530±10 nm) in response to the activity of BACE1 on a fluorogenic substrate. BACE1 is known to cleave the substrate, causing the separation of two peptide fragments and resulting in the release of a highly fluorescent fragment from quenching. Therefore, as the activity of BACE1 increases, the fluorescence intensity of the released fragment also increases, allowing for the quantification of BACE1 activity in the sample. |
