PathSpecific™ Caspase-1 Assay Kit, Colorimetric (CAT#: ZL-1122-WR6)
| Overview | |
|---|---|
| Description | The kit is used to quantitatively measure the activity of Caspase 1, a protease involved in inflammatory and apoptotic processes, using a YVAD-specific substrate in biological samples. |
| Features | Ready-used for enzyme activity assay. |
| Applications | Kit is used to study the Caspase 1 protease in cells. |
| Application Notes | The kit is designed for the quantitative determination of caspase activity in samples, making it a valuable tool for studying apoptosis and drug discovery research. |
| Molecular Mechanism of Action | The kit relies on the chromophore p-nitroanilide (pNA) being detected by spectrophotometry following its cleavage from the labeled substrate YVAD-pNA. A spectrophotometer or a microtiter plate reader can be used to measure the pNA light emission at 400 or 405 nm. Caspase-1 activity fold increase may be calculated by comparing the absorbance of pNA from a treated sample to that of an untreated control. |
