PathSpecific™ Cathepsin B Activity Assay Kit, Fluorometric (CAT#: ZL-1122-WR13)
| Overview | |
|---|---|
| Description | The kit can be effectively used to quantitatively measure the activity of cathepsin B in cell lysate and tissue extracts. |
| Features | Ready-used for enzyme activity assay. |
| Applications | Kit is used to study the Cathepsin B protease in biological samples. |
| Application Notes | The kit is a fluorescence-based assay that utilizes the preferred cathepsin-B substrate sequence RR labeled with AFC (amino-4-trifluoromethyl coumarin). |
| Molecular Mechanism of Action | Upon incubation with the cathepsin-B enzyme, the synthetic substrate RR-AFC is cleaved, resulting in the release of free AFC. The amount of AFC can be measured using a fluorometer or fluorescence plate reader at an excitation wavelength of 400 nm and an emission wavelength of 505 nm. This allows for quantification of cathepsin-B activity in cell lysates or other samples. |
