PathSpecific™ Cathepsin L Activity Assay Kit, Fluorometric (CAT#: ZL-1122-WR20)

Overview
DescriptionThe kit can be applied to measure the cathepsin L activity in cell lysate, plasma, serum, and tissue lysate on a quantitative level.
FeaturesReady-used for enzyme activity assay.
ApplicationsKit is used to study the Cathepsin L protease in biological samples.
Application NotesThe kit is an assay based on fluorescence that uses the preferred cathepsin-L substrate sequence, FR, tagged with AFC (amino-4-trifluoromethyl coumarin).
Molecular Mechanism of ActionThe assay is based on the cleavage of the synthetic substrate by cathepsin L, releasing the fluorogenic group AFC. The released AFC can be quantified using a spectrophotometer at Em = 505 nm, providing a direct measurement of cathepsin L activity in the sample.
