Creative Biolabs can provide you formulation development options with our advanced formulation development systems for APIs. We are able to deliver drugs by micro- and nano-carriers which have overcome a variety of permeability and solubility issues and we are able to control transport of pharmaceuticals to targeted sites. Creative Biolabs is the forefront of nanodrug delivery and we can provide a wide range of particulate fabrication and particle size reduction services to meet your needs.

Nanotechnology involves the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale. Nanoparticles (NPs) produced by nanotechnology contain encapsulated, dispersed, absorbed or conjugated drugs and have unique physical, optical and electronic features that are attractive for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Nanodrug delivery systems offer many advantages. The NPs have higher saturation solubility, rapid dissolution and enhanced adhesion to biological surfaces, thereby they can improve the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of drugs and result in improved efficacy. Besides, NP therapeutic drugs reside at the particle surface can maximize the loading and delivery of cargos to targeted cells and tissues. In addition, higher efficient drug delivery provided by NP delivery system could reduce overall cost and decrease toxicity. Furthermore, NP can be easily manipulated to achieve site-specific targeting, control and sustain release of a drug in order to improve therapeutic efficacy and reduce side effects.

Creative Biolabs has a full range of particle & nanoparticle engineering technologies that provide various nanotechnology-based drug delivery platforms for our client. Our micro/nanoparticle fabrication labs are supported by in-house cGMP/cGLP analytic facilities and ICH stability testing programs. Our products are user-friendly and biodegradable and are widely applicated in life science research. Our capabilities include:

Nanocrystals

We can convert existing drugs with poor water solubility and dissolution rate into readily water-soluble dispersions by reducing the drug particle size to nanometer range and stabilizing the drug NP surface with a layer of nonionic surfactants or polymeric macromolecules. Various dosage forms can be formulated, such as oral, nasal and injectable.

Liposomes

Liposomes are the most clinically established nanosystems for drug delivery. They are self-assembled artificial vesicles developed from amphiphilic phospholipids. The properties of liposomes, such as size, surface charge and functionality can be developed by addition of agents to the lipid membrane in order to get excellent pharmacokinetic profiles for delivery.

Polymeric NPs

Polymeric NPs are colloidal particles with a size range of 10-1000 nm, and they can be spherical, branched or core-shell structures. We provide various methods, such as solvent evaporation, spontaneous emulsification, solvent diffusion, salting out/emulsification diffusion, use of supercritical CO2 and polymerization, to prepare the NPs. Polymeric NPs we provide including:

  • Polymer-drug conjugates
  • Polymeric micelles
  • Hydrogel NPs

Others

  • Protein-based NPs
  • Dendrimers
  • Solid lipid nanoparticles
  • Coacervates and polyelectrolyte complexes

Particle Measuring Systems

We provide highly accurate instruments to certify high levels of accuracy. Particle measuring systems we provide include cascade impactors, virtual-impactor concentrators, laser particle counters and wide range particle spectrometers.
