| Target/Description | Glutathione Reductase is an enzyme that plays a key role in cellular antioxidant defense by converting oxidized glutathione (GSSG) back into its reduced form (GSH) in the presence of NADPH. This conversion helps maintain an optimal redox state in the cell. The reduction of GSSG to GSH leads to the formation of a colored compound that can be detected spectrophotometrically at 405 nm, allowing for the measurement of enzyme activity. |
