Creative Biolabs is a professional CRO company with abundant experience in the preclinical stage of drug development. We have advanced a lot of preclinical non-GLP projects for our global clients based on our pharmacology and pharmacodynamics (PD/PK) platform. Specifically, the well-established primate disease models promote the translation of novel drugs for multiple system diseases.

What is MI?

MI refers to a pathological state in which blood flow to the heart is reduced, leading to a decrease in oxygen supply to the heart, and abnormal energy metabolism of the myocardium. The energy required for cardiac activity is supplied almost entirely by aerobic metabolism. Under normal circumstances, the body can regulate blood supply and demand to ensure that the heart works well. An imbalance between myocardial blood supply and demand could result in MI. Coronary heart disease is known to be the most important and common cause of MI.

Preclinical Tools for MI Research

Animal models of MI are of great significance in the basic research and potential drug development for MI. At present, the preclinical models of MI can be divided into three types: acute MI models, chronic MI models, and isolated MI models. The animals used in experiments are rats, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, rabbits, pigs, and non-human primates (NHPs). The modeling methods include open-chest surgery, closed-chest surgery, drug-induction, Ameroid constrictor, fixed stenosis, hydraulic occluder, drug-induction, etc.

What Services Can We Provide?

An appropriate preclinical MI model should be as close as possible to the occurrence and development of human MI. The well-established MI model can lay a theoretical foundation for exploring MI diseases, further clarifying the etiology and pathogenesis of MI diseases, and providing a good research platform for its prevention and treatment. As the experimental species closest to humans in terms of physiology, anatomy, genetics, etc., NHPs have been selected by more and more researchers to establish the model of MI.

As a pharmacology specialist, Creative Biolabs has established MI on primates. Moreover, we provide the related analysis services including but not limited to infarct size determination, hemodynamic measurement, serum LDH, C-MB, cTnl, SOD and MDA levels measurement, cardiomyocyte viability analysis, Western Blotting, real-time PCR analysis, FACS, and ELISA to meet your research needs.

If you are interested in the NHP model of MI or have any questions about this model, please feel free to contact us for further discussion. The scientists of Creative Biolabs will provide you with all the scientific assistance you need to carry out your study projects. We are your trustworthy CRO partner.
