| Target/Description | A sample is mixed with a reagent that is specific for the target compound being tested. This results in a color change or formation of a precipitate, depending on the presence and concentration of the target compound in the sample. The intensity of the color change or the amount of precipitate formed is then measured using a spectrophotometer to quantitatively determine the concentration of the target compound in the sample. |
